Manapi Husky Sweden – Northern Lights, Husky Tours and a Place of Connection

There are places you don't simply visit – you arrive at them. Manapi Husky is one of those places.

My name is Isabelle Portmann, and long before I moved to Sweden, I carried a dream inside me: to create a home where huskies could be free, without force, to be who they truly are. No circus, no show – just real life, real connection.

Today that dream is my everyday life. And I want to invite you to share a piece of it with me.

Why I Moved to Sweden – and Found My Home in the Wilderness

There are decisions in life that aren't made with the mind. They come from deep within the heart. My move to Sweden was exactly that kind of decision.

People often ask me: "Why would you leave Switzerland to live with around 70 huskies in the middle of the Swedish Lapland wilderness?"

The answer is simple: because here, I found what I had been searching for my whole life.

No familiar surroundings, no security in the conventional sense – but instead, a stillness, a vastness, and a closeness to nature I had never known before. Among the huskies, the snow, and the endless Lapland sky, I found what truly feels like home.

More Than Sled Dogs – My Family

My dogs aren't just powerful sled dogs. They are my family, my teachers, my greatest inspiration. Every day they show me what trust, community, and individuality truly mean. Their wellbeing comes above everything else for me – from health and care to a quiet morning routine and a shared run through the snow.

At Manapi Husky, it's not about mass tourism or perfectly staged postcard moments. It's about connection. About stillness. About finding your way back to what so often gets lost in everyday life: closeness to nature, to animals, to yourself.

Something Changes When Guests Come to Us

I see it again and again: people arrive with a full mind and an empty tank – and leave with bright eyes and a smile. When a guest looks into a husky's clear, alert eyes for the first time, when the Northern Lights dance silently across the sky, when silence suddenly feels full instead of empty – that's when I know why I do this.

This isn't a cliché. This is the moment I work for, every single day.

The Truth Behind the Dream

I want to be honest with you, because Manapi Husky lives on authenticity, not just beautiful pictures: life on a husky farm is hard. It means work in every kind of weather, in every season – 365 days a year, with no vacation. It means tiredness, sometimes doubt, and the ever-present question of whether our guests are truly happy here. You don't get rich doing this.

But that's exactly what makes it so valuable to me. I don't do this for money – I do it out of deep conviction, because I love this work. And for every hard moment, there are ten that make up for it: a dog's trust, a shared adventure in the snow, the glow on our guests' faces.

Why I'm Inviting You

When you come to us, you won't get a polished show. You'll get something more real: a glimpse into a life full of dedication, a world where humans and animals meet as equals. You'll get to know huskies as they truly are – not just as powerful runners, but as sensitive, deep-feeling beings with their own character.

Manapi Husky is more than a destination. It's a home – for me, for my pack, and for a moment, for you too. A place where love knows no limits and the essence of life suddenly feels real again.

I look forward to meeting you – and your love for huskies – on your next trip to us.
